St. Euphrasia’s Training School for Girls was founded in 1947 by sisters from the Congregation of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd (Good Shepherd Sisters) near Batesburg, South Carolina.  The purpose of the school was to promote character development of young girls.  The school began with six sisters and fifteen residents.  By the time the school closed in 1969, there were seventeen sisters and sixty students.
